High Self-Esteem is important. Jerry Lewis in “The Nutty Professor” said, “you’d better learn to like yourself because you are going to be spending a lot of time with you.” A beautiful thing about self-esteem is that it grows by feeding upon itself. The better we feel about ourselves, the more likely we are going to get along with others. Without exception, the real winner and highly motivated person has accepted his/her own uniqueness, feels comfortable with his/her image, and is willing that others know and accept them just the way they are. You must think positively about “you.”
This is so true. If you don’t believe in yourself, then who will? That is why it is so important to do affirmations often. When you wake up, look in the mirror and say something positive…“I am alive with a reasonable portion of health, activities of my limbs, sight, and today is going to be an awesome day.”
Get up, dress up, and show up and always display an “attitude of gratitude. Wear a smile in spite of the negativity that may be going on around you. Smiling is contagious. Feeling great about yourself can completely change the atmosphere of a room. High self-esteem is not just liking yourself, but generally affording yourself love, dignity, and respect. It also means believing in your capability to learn, achieve, and contribute to the world.
